For removing aldehydes and/or alcohols, acids, and different pollutants from industrial process gas streams, both dry and wet processes are used. The absorption system captures and oxidizes acids or aldehydes using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nitric acid (HNO3), or sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and aqueous catalysts. These chemicals are dosed in wet scrubbers, while dry sorbents like sodium bicarbonate, unslaked lime granules, or powdered activated carbon are used. Particle control is achieved through multi-cyclones, bag filters, or electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). Specifically, in facilities that burn only forest products, MDSJ AIR’s designed VYMS 98 MULTI-CYCLONE application has been found to lower emission values to below 200mg/m³.
