Hazardous Waste Incineration

MDSJ has designed systems using advanced technologies to remove two classes of pollutants from incinerator flue gases: particulate matter and acid gases. It has also added SNCR dosing systems using ammonia-urea where dioxins and/or mercury need to be removed. Modern municipalities in all countries are required to install emission control systems for the removal of particulates, acid gases and, in many cases, dioxins and mercury in solid waste incinerators. MDSJ AIR typically uses fabric filters or combined dry electrostatic precipitators (ESP) for the removal of particulates in these municipal solid waste incinerators. ESP alone is not sufficient, and dry sorbent dosing after ESP is important for recirculation. Spray dry absorbers and dry lime or sodium bicarbonate injection systems are used for the removal of acidic gases. These systems are preferred for the removal of acid gases — HCl and sulfur dioxide (SO2). Dry powder activated carbon injection systems provide dioxin, furan and mercury removal. In addition, after the temperature drop in the gas is provided for the removal of acidic pollutant gases, wet scrubber systems are used in the second and final stage, after the gas is cleaned, it is reheated and discharged from the chimneys. MDSJ AIR has sufficient knowledge for the correct selection of these systems.

Air Emission Control for Industry

The increasing demand of the world for renewable or sustainable energy has encouraged the development of alternative energy sources to replace traditional natural gas and oil and their increasing costs. The combustion of these alternative sources and the energy production phase require air emission control systems proven by experience. Applied technologies are needed and in the case of burning ethanol, wood pellets, poultry litter, horse litter, special dry and wet adsorbent injections are required in addition to particle control. Although only particle control is considered sufficient when burning pure forest products in general, due to the difficulty of raw material supply and the mixing of different solid materials, dry particle filtration alone will not be sufficient. As a result of burning mixed raw materials;

Chemical Industries

  • Dilute and dense phase transport

  • Pneumatic dense phase conveying

  • Dry sorbent dosing so2 desulfication

  • Wet scrubber wet so2 go

  • Dry medical filtration jetpulse filter systems

  • Hazardous waste incineration systems, dioxin heavy metals removal, active carbon dosing

Ethanol Production: Particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) can typically be seen in flue gas.

MDSJ Air Emission Control EquipmentVarious control technologies from MDSJ are used in the biomass industry:

Industrial process uses dry and liquid processes to remove aldehydes and/or alcohols, acids and other contaminants from gas streams. Absorption systems use hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nitric acid (HNO3) or sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and aqueous catalysts to capture and oxidize acids or aldehydes. These chemicals are dosed in wet scrubbers, dry sorbents sodium bicarbonate, quicklime, granulated or powdered activated carbon are used. Multi-cyclones, bag filters or ESP electrostatic filters are used as particle traps. In plants burning only forest products, the VYMS 98 MULTI CYCLONE application designed by MDSJ has been found to reduce emission values below 200 mg/m³. It is an ideal solution for plants where the limit values are accepted as 350 mg/m³, single-point ash bag and compressed air saving, maintenance-free, fixed pressure drop, uninterrupted operation, long life, provides great advantages.
